DCA Business Recovery is a family-owned and family-run insolvency practice based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

We provide clear, confidential and practical advice to company directors, individuals, accountants and other professional advisers throughout Essex, London and across the United Kingdom.

Financial difficulties can be stressful, and speaking to an insolvency practitioner can feel like a significant step. Our role is to listen, understand the full circumstances and explain the available options in plain English. We do not believe in applying the same solution to every situation, and we will never recommend a formal insolvency process unless we consider it appropriate.

DCA Business Recovery was founded by Debbie Cockerton in 2012 following a career in insolvency that began at the Official Receiver’s Office in 1982.

Today, Debbie works alongside her family and an experienced team of insolvency professionals. Being family-run shapes how we operate. Our name is attached to every piece of advice we give, every appointment we accept and every person who contacts us for help.

Clients are not passed between anonymous departments or pressured into making a quick decision. They receive practical advice from people who understand the financial and emotional effect that business difficulties can have on directors, employees and their families.

Experienced and Properly Regulated Advice

Deborah Ann Cockerton MABRP FIPA is licensed to act as an insolvency practitioner in the United Kingdom by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Her insolvency practitioner number is 9641.

Debbie has worked in insolvency for more than 40 years and is supported by a skilled team with extensive experience in company liquidation, solvent company closures, business recovery, personal insolvency and creditor matters.

Our office is located at 18 Clarence Road, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, SS1 1AN.

We regularly meet clients from across Essex and London, while telephone and Microsoft Teams appointments allow us to provide the same personal service to directors and professional advisers throughout the United Kingdom.
