Twenty years.
Still about people.
Celebrating Luke Cockerton’s 20-year work anniversary — and the clients, colleagues and contacts who have been part of the journey.
A milestone shared with so many people.
A milestone measured in people.
Today, 6 November 2026, we are celebrating Luke Cockerton’s 20-year work anniversary. It is a chance to look back, say thank you and reflect on the people who have made those years matter.
Now a Director at DCA Business Recovery, Luke has spent two decades working in a profession that brings people together at some of the most difficult points in their working lives. Businesses face tough decisions. Directors carry worries that are often hard to share. Accountants need someone they can trust with their clients.
Looking back through photographs from across the years brings plenty of memories. The strongest ones are about the colleagues he has worked alongside, the relationships built and the businesses and people he has been able to help.
Some familiar faces. A lot of memories.
A few moments from earlier in the journey — a reminder of the people, shared occasions and friendships that become part of working life.
The conversations behind the case files.
Working in insolvency means seeing how closely a business owner’s livelihood, identity and wellbeing can be tied to their company. Financial pressure can follow someone home, affect their sleep and confidence, and leave them feeling that they have to carry everything on their own.
For Luke, helping starts with listening. A clear explanation, an honest answer and the opportunity to talk without feeling judged can help someone begin to make sense of a difficult situation.
Over the years, he has tried to play his small part in supporting directors through that pressure, including the strain it can place on their mental health. Sometimes that means explaining a route forward. Sometimes it means giving someone the time and space to ask the question they have been putting off.
Helping a director feel able to take the next step is a part of the work that matters deeply to him.
A working life is made of more than work.
The photographs also tell another part of the story: the shared events, the laughter and the colleagues who make the busy days easier. Those moments become part of the history of a team, and they deserve a place in the anniversary album too.
Twenty years comes with a lot of thank-yous.
This anniversary is an opportunity to recognise the people Luke has met, worked with and learned from along the way.
To the clients and business ownersThank you for your trust, particularly when asking for advice was a difficult first step. Being invited to help at such an important time is a responsibility Luke takes seriously.
To the accountants, advisers and contactsThank you for the introductions, conversations, support and friendships. Relationships built over years are a valued part of Luke’s working life.
To colleagues, past and presentThank you for the knowledge shared, the teamwork and the everyday moments. The milestone belongs in part to everyone who has helped shape the journey.
Experience grows. The personal approach stays.
A great deal can change in 20 years: the way businesses operate, the challenges they face and the technology used to support them. At DCA, we continue to develop how we work while keeping our advice personal and straightforward.
Luke remains committed to understanding the circumstances, explaining the options clearly and helping people reach the right outcome. That is the approach he brings to DCA today, and the one he wants to carry into the years ahead.
Congratulations, Luke.
Twenty years of experience, relationships and memories — with more still to come.
